HALF DAY TOURS PUNTA ARENAS & AND ITS SURROUNDINGS winter tours!

Punta Arenas is the southernmost city in Chile with a population of about 120,000 inhabitants. Due to its location, on the Magellan Strait, it was the main maritime port before the opening of the Panamá Canal in 1914. This town was populated mainly by the European immigrants at the end of the 19 th century, who brought part of their culture, architecture and influence.







City Tour & Museum

Duration: Approximately 3 hrs.
The tour begins with a visit to La Cruz Hill for a panoramic view of Tierra del Fuego, and the Strait of Magellan. You will visit a museum, with exhibits of the relics and the handicrafts of the Indigenous people from Patagonia. We will stop at the Plaza de Armas Square to view and photograph the Magellan Statue, and then we'll visit the most beautiful cemetery in Chile.

Out door Museum & Monuments

Duration: Approximately 2 hrs.
This guided tour is designed for blind and visually impaired people. The tour begins with a visit to the Memorial Museum where the guests will be able to touch some chosen objects, such as the engine machine, the Shearing Shed, and many other pieces of the museum dating from the 19 th century. Then we will visit the most famous monument in this region, the Shepherd.
At the Plaza de Armas Square visitors will be able to touch the Magellan Statue.

Otway Sound Penguin Colony

Duration: Approximately 3 ½ hrs
Enjoy the beauty of Patagonia with a brief stop at the penguin colony, located 40 miles from Punta Arenas, over mostly unpaved roads, across huge typical sheep farms. Skirting Otway bay, you will reach the burrows where Magellan penguin live and nest. To reach the nest and beach where the penguins live, you need to walk approximately ¾ mile each way. Wild geese, condors and foxes may be seen on the way, a part of the rich fauna of the Chilean Patagonia.

The Magellan Forest Reserve

Duration: Approximately 2 ½ hrs.
The Reserve is located 15 minutes driving away from downtown.
This beautiful protected area has great hiking and biking trails among untouched forest of beech tree, with a spectacular view of the Strait of Magellan and the famous island of Tierra del Fuego. There's a special view point accessible for wheel chair.
