FORT BULNES & SURROUNDINGS
The tour begins with a visit to Fort Bulnes that is located 40 miles south from Punta Arenas driving over mostly paved roads, skirting the Strait of Magellan. The fort was the first stablishment in Patagonia, in 1843. For blind visitors it will be interesting because they can touch the replica of this fort, feel the wind and the birds that live on this place.
ÑANDU PARK
This is a tipical sheep ranchque that is located 40kms away from Punta Arens. Here we can observe the native fauna of the región such as the ñandu and the llama-like Guanaco, and also we can admire the exoctic fauna such as the african ostrich, among others. During this tour you will taste the delicious patagonian lamb.
TREKKING IN THE MAGELLAN FOREST RESERVE
The Reserve is located 15 minutes driving away from downtown.
This beautiful protected area has great hiking and biking trails among untouched forest of beech tree, with a spectacular view of the Strait of Magellan and the famous island of Tierra del Fuego. There's a special view point accessible for wheel chair and information in Braille for blind visitors.
RÍO VERDE FARM
On this ranch you will taste the delicious patagonian lamb and the typical chilean empenadas. After lunch we will visit the shearing shed and if the weather conditions are fine we will have a walk by the cost for watching coastal birds on Skyring Sound.
